Side effects: Increased dopamine, spontaneous smiling, uncontrollable scrolling
Led the development of the official website for the 19th IFIP Working Group 9.4 Conference, hosted by Kathmandu University and the University of Agder. The site provides attendees, researchers, and participants with a comprehensive, user-friendly platform for conference registration, paper submission, and program information.
The website is accessible at ifip94.ku.edu.np and showcases Nepal’s rich culture while delivering critical academic and organizational resources to a global audience.
Organizing an international ICT4D conference requires a centralized platform to:
Share detailed conference information (keynotes, tracks, dates, guidelines)
Manage paper submissions and deadlines
Facilitate participant registration
Highlight cultural and logistical information for international attendees
Ensure accessibility, responsiveness, and ease of navigation
Existing solutions were either fragmented or not tailored for global academic conferences, creating a need for a dedicated, elegant, and responsive web platform.
As Project Lead, I oversaw the design, architecture, and deployment of a modern, interactive, and mobile-responsive conference website. Key contributions included:
Full-stack leadership: Coordinated UI/UX design, front-end development, and backend workflow for registration and paper submission
Information Architecture: Organized content for conference overview, submission guidelines, keynote speakers, tracks, and cultural highlights
Responsive Design: Ensured usability across devices, providing an intuitive experience for participants worldwide
Integration: Linked paper submission workflows, registration forms, and external resources seamlessly
Branding & Visuals: Incorporated Kathmandu University and IFIP WG 9.4 branding while highlighting Nepal’s cultural heritage (Mount Everest, Pashupatinath, Lumbini, Mustang, traditional dances, etc.)
Conference Overview: Tracks, keynote speakers, and schedule
Paper Submission System: Clear deadlines, Springer template links, and author guidelines
Registration: Online registration with automated confirmation
Cultural Showcase: Highlights Nepalese landmarks, festivals, and traditions for international attendees
Responsive and Accessible: Optimized for desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
Frontend: Next.js / React
Hosting: Vercel
Backend & Forms: Integrated with online submission tools
Design: Figma / Custom UI components
Deployment & Maintenance: Version control, CI/CD pipelines
